1st March 2010 - Men's team - Salford 26 - 24 Nottingham 22nd February 2010 - National University Championships Nottingham's Men's and Women's teams
repeated last year's feat of reaching the semi finals at the National
Championships. Unfortunately both were defeated as Manchester defeated
Strathclyde/Glasgow in both finals. 23rd January 2010 - Men's team - Nottingham 17 - 29 Manchester 17th January 2010 - Men's team - Liverpool 31 - 31 Nottingham 14th December 2009 - Merry Christmas from University of Nottingham Handball Club As the term has now ended and the sports centre is already being prepared for University events, exams etc. we have no more trainings this year (decade?). Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Handball club this year, especially those who have organised, played in, supported, or refereed our matches this year. It has been a great year, with many highlights. There was the excitement of the Women's team topping their table in 2008/09 and the Men's team pushing for the play offs with a late run last season. Then there was the hugely successful 2009 University Championships, where both teams won medals. This season has seen some oustanding performances from the Men's team and we look forward to seeing the boys pushing for a chance to play the top teams from the South league in the play offs next Spring. Training will resume in the New Year, but all thats left for this year is, from all at the University of Nottingham Handball Club, whether you are here in Nottingham or somewhere less exciting, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! 13th December 2009 - Men's team - Manchester Uni 19 - 33 Nottingham 23rd November 2009 - Nottingham to host University Handball tournament Following on from the excellent tournament Nottingham organised for last year's University Handball Championships, the University of Nottingham Handball club has arranged a friendly tournament. The tournament will take place on Saturday 28th November, at Sutton Bonnington sports centre between 1pm and 5pm. The tournament will feature men's teams from Lincoln, Loughborough and Warwick Universities, as well as the hosts. The tournament is open to For Nottingham University students or staff, make sure you take up this great opportunity to play competitive handball by registering with the club now! 22nd November 2009 - Men's team - Nottingham 23 - 24 Salford 16th November 2009 - Men's team - Liverpool Speke Garston 21 - 25 Nottingham 8th November 2009 - The wait is over for women's handball! The long awaited start to the Women's Handball season is now just around the corner! A full list of fixtures for the Women's Development League (North) is now available on the matches page. Matches will be played in a tournament format, with each team playing two games. The University of Nottingham's women will be joining forces with Lincoln to enter a team in this season's competition. They open their campaign with games against Deva's first and second teams, in Chester on 15th November. The first game will be at 12pm, with Liverpool also involved in the day's 3 matches. Look out for the first home game, at Sutton Bonnington on Saturday 21st November. 2nd November 2009 - Men's team - Wirral 27 - 34 Nottingham 26th October 2009 - Men's team - Manchester 32 - 18 Nottingham 21st October 2009 - Change of venue for Manchester match The top of the table clash between Nottingham and Manchester Handball Club, on 25th October, has been switched from Sutton Bonnington to Bellevue, Manchester. The match will start at 1pm and sees the league's only unbeaten team travel to face last season's chapions. 19th October 2009 - Men's team - Nottingham 17 - 14 Manchester Uni 8th October 2009 - Front page news The Men's team's excellent result on Sunday was one of two eye-catching results, as last season's top two teams both lost.
